Abstract: Objective To investigate the kidney transplantation for 31 advance age patients.Methods From May 1992 to Dec.1997.31 patients over 50 years old received the cadaver kidney transplantation,and the data were retrospectively analyzed.Results The survival rate of person/kidney one year after transplantation was 87.1%/81.2%,respectively.The common complications of advanced age patients after kidney transplantation included lung infection,cerebrovascular accident and myocardial infarction,etc..Conclusion Advance age was not the absolute contraindication for kidney transplantation.It is particular important to conduct preoperative preparation,perioperative anesthesia.and monitoring.the prevention and treatment of the postoperative complications,and the monitoring of the toxic and side effects of immunosuppressive agent,etc..The postoperative complications,especially lung infection,are the main dead factors for advanced age CRF patients receiving kidney transplantation.
