Abstract: Objective To analyze the clinical effect of aspirin enteric-coated tablets combined with antibiotics on acute epididymitis. Methods Totally 260 patients diagnosed of acute epididymitis from January 2012 to January 2017 in Zaozhuang Municipal Hospital of Shandong Province were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 130 cases in each group. The control group was treated with ceftriaxone sodium injection and the observation group was treated with ceftriaxone sodium plus aspirin enteric-coated tablets.Therapeutic effectiveness was assessed 2 weeks after medication;reduction rate of epididymal mass was measured 2 and 4 weeks after treatment;control rate of pain was assessed 1 and 2 weeks after treatment;sperm quality was evaluated 4 weeks after treatment. Results The 2-week effective rate in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group [94.6% (123/130) vs 69.2% (90/130)] (P < 0.05).At 4 weeks after treatment, reduction rate of epididymal mass in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group [96.2% (125/130) vs 72.3% (94/130)] (P <0.05).Control rate of pain in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group at 1 and 2 weeks after treatment [80.8% (105/130) vs 30.8% (40/130),99.2% (129/130) vs 53.8% (70/130)] (both P < 0.05).At 4 weeks after treatment, sperm motility rate, sperm concentration and grade a + b sperm ratio in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group[(85±6)% vs (63 ±4)%,(35.1 ± 1.8) × 10/ml vs (25.2 ±2.4) × 106/ml,(61 ±5)% vs (50 ± 3) %] (all P < 0.05).Conclusion Aspirin enteric-coated tablets combined with antibiotics is effective in treating acute epididymitis and improving sperm quality.
