Abstract： Mortality due to cardiovascular disease is increasing in developing countries and arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in developed countries. The main pathological change in cardiovascular disease is atherosclerosis, which is closely associated with obesity. This study reviewed progress in research on the correlation of visceral adipose tissue and subcutaneous adipose tissue with cardiovascular disease.
