Abstract: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of ginger umbilical hot compress combined with ear acupoint pressing beans in improving abdominal symptoms in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) who were on non-invasive ventilation. A total of 80 AECOPD patients on non-invasive positive pressure ventilation were included. The study group was treated with ginger umbilical hot compress combined with auricular acupoint pressing beans for comprehensive intervention, and the control group was treated with routine nursing program. The occurrence of adverse events, gastrointestinal function, and data of blood gas analysis before and after intervention were compared between groups. The study found that ginger umbilical hot compress combined with ear acupoint pressing beans can effectively improve the gastrointestinal function and findings of blood gas study in AECOPD patients treated with non-invasive positive pressure ventilation, which appears valuable in clinical practice.
