Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effect of two continuous glucose monitoring systems(CGMS) on blood glucose fluctuation in patients with early type 2 diabetic kidney disease(EDKD).Methods A total of 60 patients with EDKD were randomly divided into two groups:Retrospective CGMS group(n=30) and real-time CGMS group(RT-CGMS,n=30).The clinical data, metabolic indexes were evaluated in the two groups. The blood glucose fluctuation parameters such as the 24-hour mean blood glucose(MBG),standard deviation of blood glucose(SDBG),large amplitude of glycemic excursions (LAGE),the mean amplitude of glycemic excursions(MAGE) and absolute means of daily differences(MODD) were analyzed within each group and between the 2 groups. Results There was significant difference in 24 hSDBG in the retrospective group(F=10.53,P<0.05).The average blood glucose level of 24 hours,24 h SDBG,LAGE,and MAGE in d2 were significantly lower than in d1 (F=20.51,9.37,5.08,17.64,P<0.05).LAGE,MAGE,and MODD were significantly lower in RT-CGMS group than in retrospective CGMS group (t=18.93,4.37,16.10,P<0.05).Conclusion Implication of RT-CGMS could decrease high blood glucose rapidly and stably, and improve the blood glucose fluctuation in patients with EDKD.
