Correlation of Heart Rates and Scanning Span with Scanning Doses in Coronary CT Angiography

Abstract： Objective To investigate the relation of heart rates and scanning span with scanning doses in Coronary Computerized To-mography Angiography. Methods 240 patients undergoing CCTA were divided into 4 groups according to the heart rates and scanning span;effective doses( ED)were recorded and four point scoring method was applied in evaluating the image quality. Results No differ-ence in image quality was found among the groups;radiation reduced significantly as the heart rates slowed down;effective doses in pa-tients undergoing diastasis scanning were significantly lower than those in patients undergoing whole cardiac cycle scanning. Conclu-sions The scanning does in CCTA can be effectively decreased by reducing heart rates and shortening scanning span.
