Abstract: Common laboratory assays for the diagnosis of tuberculosis include acid-fast smear,tissue culture,histopathological study,PCR,and so on.T-SPOT.TB assay,a new auxiliary laboratory method for tuberculosis diagnosis,belongs to interferon-gamma release assays,and has been more and more widely applied in clinical practice.This review summarizes the principles and characteristics of T-SPOT.TB assay,as well as its application values in diagnosing cutaneous tuberculosis,exploring the pathogenesis of tuberculous infection-related skin diseases,and in evaluating the risk of latent tuberculosis activation before medical treatments.
