Abstract： As one of the active ingredients of the triterpenic fraction of Centella asiatica,asiaticoside is the main component of Centella triterpenes tablets or cream used at dermatology clinics.Many clinical and animal studieds have revealed that asiaticoside can promote wound healing,prevent excessive scar formation,and counteract skin aging.Moreover,asiaticoside has been widely and efficiently used in the treatment of some diseases,including pigmentary disease and scleroderma,and so on.This paper provides an overview of the application of asiaticoside in dermatology.
