Abstract: Chronic spontaneous urticaria(CSU)is a common mucocutaneous allergic disease characterized by recurrent wheals and erythema with severe itching. The immunologic tolerance-mediating CD4+CD25+regulatory T cells(Treg cells)and inflammation-mediating Thl7 cells are two different kinds of CD4+T cells. There is a reciprocal relationship between Treg and Th17 cells in terms of number and function. The Treg/Thl7 cell balance plays an essential role in the maintenance of immune homeostasis, and their imbalance may cause abnormal immune response, resulting in the occurrence of autoimmune diseases including CSU.The cytokine microenvironment around initial CD4+T cells exerts a regulatory role in the relationship between Th17 and Treg cells.
