Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of dezocine preventing emergence agitation during general anesthesia. Methods Eighty patients of American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Ⅰ-Ⅱ undergoing elective surgery were randomly divided into two groups:observation group and control group (40 cases in each group). The observation group was given intravenous injection of dezocine 0.1 mg/kg 30 minutes before the end of operation and patients in the control group received routine drug anesthesia. Results The incidence of Ramsay score 1 point in revive stage of general anesthesia in observation group of 5,10,20,30 min are respectively 2.5% (1/40),5.0%(2/40),5.0% (2/40),7.5 % (3/40),significandy lower than the control group,12.5 % (5/40),20.0% (8/40),30.0% (12/40),32.5% (13/40).The difference was statistically significant (all P < 0.05).Between the two groups, the breathing recovery time, eyes open time and extubation time were not statistically different (P>0.05).Conclusion Dezocine may be effective in preventing exciting and restlessness of patients recovery from general anesthesia with good consciousness and few adverse reactions.
