Abstract: Objective To study the relationship between professional personality and morale in the naval ship crew and to explore further the effect of professional personality on combat morale.Methods Measurement of professional personality and combat morale was made in 488 naval ship persormel.Then,all the data obtained were analyzed by t test,correlation test,single-factor ANOVA,and LSD test.Results ( 1 ) Scores of professional personality for the ship crew were all significantly higher than those of the norm.(2) Scores of responsibility,aggressiveness,intelligence,agreeableness,extraversion or introversion,and emotional stability were obviously correlated to combat morale score and various other factor scores.(3) Significant differences were found in combat morale scores of the ship crew with different grades of scores of responsibility,aggressiveness,intelligence,agreeableness,extraversion or introversion,and emotional stability.ConclusionsResponsibility,aggressiveness,intelligence,agreeableness,extraversion or introversion,and emotional stability of the ship crew are closely correlated to combat morale,indicating that the ship crew' s professional personality has an impact on combat morale.
