Abstract: Objective To observe the anti-apoptotic agents Ginaton (EGb761) on retinal pigment degeneration of the RCS rats to explore the degeneration of retinal neurons in the protection mechanism. Methods Observation of RCS rat animal model of hereditary retinal degeneration of retinal photoreceptor cells of the visual cortex area 17 cells and its mechanism. Results In the RCS rat retinal degeneration of early, EGb761 protective effects on neurons,photoreceptor cells can make more retention. EGb761 by inhibiting the expression of FasL to reduce neuronal apoptosis, a protective effect on retinal degeneration. Conclusion EGB761 photoreceptor cells can inhibit neuronal apoptosis in early stage can be used as the treatment of hereditary retinitis pigmentosa an ideal drug.
