Abstract： Objective According to the Analysis of clinical characteristic of patients with infective endocarditis(IE),to probe the transition of clinical character and rational therapy of IE.Methods The data of pathogenic bacteria from 207 hospitalized IE patients between January 1997 and December 2006 were eligible.Group Ⅰ included 130 cases admitted from January 1997 to December 2001,and group Ⅱ included 77 patients admitted from January 2002 to December 2006.Results During the past 10 years,the case history of IE was lengthened while the length of stay is shortened.Positive blood germiculture rate significantly decreased from 53.08% in group Ⅰ to 38.96% in group Ⅱ.The ratio of streptococcus descended from 52.17% to 33.33%,while it of staphylococcus aureus increased from 15.94% to 23.33%.The incidence of fever and hematuria significantly decreased,so as the mortality.Conclusion During the past 10 years,the clinical patterns of IE has had significantly changed.This should be specially noted.
