Abstract: Objective To detect the expression of dickkopf1 (DKK1) in human glioma cell lines MGR3 and UWR7. Methods The expression of DKK1 in human glioma cell lines MGR3 and UWR7 was detec-ted by enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay (ELISA) and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-'PCR). Results ELISA demonstrated that the expression of DKK1 was both up-regulated in MGR3 and UWR7. RT-PCR showed that DKK1 transcripts was over-expressed in MGR3 and UWR7, which was absent in normol brain tissues. Conclusion DKK1 is over-expressed in glioma cell lines MGR3 and UWR7,which may play an important role in the initiation and development of glioma.
