Abstract: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common sleep-disordered breathing disease. Continuous positive airway pressure is the first-line treatment. However, the patient′s compliance is unsatisfactory. Implantable electrical stimulation of hypoglossal nerve has become an important alternative treatment for patients with moderate to severe OSA, and it is effective in identifying suitable patients. Ansa cervicalis stimulation, proposed in recent years, is a new method for treating OSA. It plays a role in stabilizing the upper airway by enhancing the caudal traction of the pharyngeal airway and the contraction of the sternal thyroid muscle. This effect is improved when combined with hypoglossal nerve stimulation.
