Abstract: Objective To investigate the effects of hyperbaric oxygen ( HBO ) on the patients with diabetic foot complicated with peripheral neuropathy and its impacts on related serum markers and their life quality.Methods One hundred patients with diabetic foot complicated with peripheral neuropathy admitted in the Endocrinological Department of the Hospital were enrolled as study subjects , and in accordance with different treatment methods were divided into the study group and the control group , each consisting of 50 patients.The patients in the study group were given hyperbaric oxygen treatment as well as routine treatment , while the patients in the control group just received routine treatment .Then, therapeutic effects were compared between the patients of the 2 groups.Results After treatment, total efficacy rate of the study group (94.0%) was obviously higher than that of the control group (78.0%), with statistical significance (P<0.05).Before treatment, there were no significant differences in nerve conduction velocity as well as blood flow velocity of the affected limbs in the patients of the 2 groups(P >0.05).However, following treatment, nerve conduction velocity and blood flow velocity of the affected limbs in the study group were considerably improved , as compared with those of the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, no marked differences could be seen in related serum datawhen comparisons were made between the 2 groups (P>0.05).However, after treatment, related serum data of the study group all significantly improved , as compared with those of the control group (P<0.05).Before treatment, no significant differences could be noted in life quality of the groups , however after treatment, the life quality of the study group obviously improved , as compared with that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion HBO could produce obvious clinical efficacy in the treatment of diabetic foot complicated with peripheral neuropathy .It could not only improve microcirculation of the patients , but hasten recovery of damaged nerves and improve their life quality .For this reason, it is worth further clinical popularization
