Adiponectin levels in patients with atherosclerotic cerebral infarction and polymorphic analysis of related gene SNP + 45 T/G in the island area of East Zhejiang

Abstract: Objective To investigate the levels of plasma adiponectin in patients with atherosclerotic cerebral infarction and related gene SNP + 45 polymorphism and the correlation between them in island area of East Zhejiang.Methods The levels of plasma adiponectin were measured with ELISA,and related gene SNP +45 polyrnorphism was monitored with polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCRRFLP).Results The frequencies of TG + GG genotype and G allele in the cerebral infarction (CI) group were all significantly higher than those in the control group,while the levels of plasma adiponectin in the CI group were lower than those in control group.Logistic regression analysis revealed that the adiponectin gene SNP + 45 TG + GG was positively correlated with that of CI patients,and the levels of plasma adiponectin were negatively associated with CI patients.Conclusions Adiponectin gene TG + GG genotype was possibly a susceptible genotype associated with those patients with atherosclerotic cerebral infarction in island area of East Zhejiang.The occurrence of CI might be resulted from its effect on the expression of plasma adiponectin.
