Abstract: Objective To investigate effects of hyperbaric oxygen on the level of resistin in patients serum after intracoronary stenting. Methods After successful intracoronary stenting, eighty patients were divided into two groups: hyperbaric oxygen treatment group and control group. The levels of resistin before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The level of resistin in the treatment group was significantly lower after treatment than before (P <0. 01) , whereas that in the control group was not different between before and after treatment (P>0.05). There were no differences in the levels of resistin between the two groups before treatment ( P >0. 05) , but significant differences after treatment (P <0.01 ). Conclusions Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can significantly decrease the level of resistin in patients serum after intracoronary stenting.
