Abstract: Objective To establish an approach that can be applied in the investigations requiring for simultaneous and real-time recording of electroencephalogram and cerebral blood flow in conscious rats during hyperbaric exposure.Methods Electrodes and laser-Doppler fiberoptic probe were fixed onto the cranium of rats,then they were connected to the electrophysiology recording apparatus outside of the compression chamber to monitor electroencephalogram and cerebral blood flow.Results The tiny variation of cerebral blood flow and electroencephalogram following the extension of exposure could be recorded clearly in this way.Conclusions This method Can be used in many studies which demand simultaneous and real-time recording of electroencephalogram and cerebral blood flow in rats or other animals exposed to hyperbaric environment.
