Abstract: @@ Verruciform xanthoma, a rare and benign lesion that was first described by Shafer1 in 1971, occurs mainly in the oral mucosa, but extra-oral involvement includes the vulva,2,3 scrotum,4,5 penis,6-15 anal region16 and extremities.17,18 With sessile or pedunculated growth this lesion is small, asymptomatic, yellow-brown or red-orange in color, and flat. Clinically, verruciform xanthoma is likely to be misdiagnosed as papillomas and occasionally as verrucous or squamous cell carcinoma. It has a benign course and good prognosis. We report a case of verruciform xanthoma that occurred in the penis, a very rare location.
