Abstract: Objective:To investigate the expression of phosphoglycerate glyceric acid mutase 1(PGAM1)and fibroblast activating protein-α(FAP-α)in colorectal carcinoma and their correlation with ascites. Methods:This study was a retrospective study, a total of 120 patients admitted to the department of Oncology of Nanyang First People′s Hospital from August 2019 to March 2021, aged(45.96±1.96)years old, the age range ranged from 30 to 65 years old. They were selected and divided into combined ascites group( n=48)and non-combined ascites group( n=72)according to whether they had ascites or not.Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of PGAM1 and FAP-α in cancer tissues of the two groups.Colonoscopic mucosal biopsy was performed in the ascites group to analyze the relationship between PGAM1 and FAP-α and tumor progression and ascites. Results:In the combined ascites group, the high expression rate of PGAM1 in colorectal cancer tissues[66.7%(32/48)]was higher than that in para-carcinoma tissues[27.1%(13/48)]; in the non-combined ascites group, the high expression rate of PGAM1 in colorectal cancer tissues[65.3%(47/72)]was higher than that in para-carcinoma tissues[33.3%(24/72)], and that in the combined ascites group para-carcinoma tissues was higher than the non-combined ascites group, and the differences were statistically significant( P<0.05).The high expression rate of FAP-α in colorectal cancer tissues[68.7%(33/48)]was higher than that in para-carcinoma tissues[37.5%(18/48)]in the combined ascites group, the high expression rate of FAP-α in colorectal cancer tissues[65.3%(47/72)]was higher than that in para-carcinoma tissues[37.5%(27/72)]in the non-combined ascites group, and that in thecombined ascites group was higher than the non-combined ascites group, and the differences were statistically significant( P<0.05).The positive expression rate of PGAM1[62.5%(30/48)]was higher than the negative expression rate[37.5%(18/48)], the positive expression rate of FAP-α[66.7%(32/48)]was higher than the negative expression rate[33.3%(16/48)]in the combined ascites group; the positive expression rate of PGAM1[58.3%(42/72)]was higher than the negative expression rate[41.7%(30/72)], and the positive expression rate of FAP-α[68.1%(49/72)]was higher than the negative expression rate[31.9%(23/72)]in the non-combined ascites groupand the differences were statistically significant( P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the negative expression rate between PGAM1 and FAP-α( P>0.05). Conclusions:The detection of PGAM1 and FAP-α expression in colorectal cancer can prevent the further deterioration of ascites disease in medical staff and patients, and help to diagnose tumor invasion and take prognostic means with outstanding clinical significance.
