Abstract: Objective Tostudytheclinicalcurativeeffectofcalciumhydroxideiodoformpasteused in apexification. Methods From October 2011 to September 2013, 68 cases of young dental patients with permanent teeth's root not development completely due to trauma and caries. According to a simple digital method, All patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group of 34 each. The control group was treated with calcium hydroxide paste for root induction, and the observation group was treated with calcium hydroxide iodoform paste, in postoperative 3 month, 6 months, 1 year, their effect in root development was compared. Results After 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, the effective rate of the observation group were 92.31%, 89.74%, 87.18%, and the control group were 73.68%, 71.05%, 65.79%, the curative effect of the observation group is better than the control group (χ2=4.7570, 4.2867, 4.9163, P<0.05). Conclusion Calcium hydroxide iodoform paste can be more effective than the traditional calcium hydroxide paste in inducing root apical continued development of young permanent teeth with apical stop growing, and has a good clinical curative effect.
