Abstract: The purpose of this study was to how electroencephalogram (EEG) combined with serum neuron-specific enolase (NSE) , glial fibrin (GFAP) and S-100β relates to determining a clinical diagnosis of epilepsy. The study found that serum NSE, GFAP and S-100β were related to the development and progression of epileps, especially in epileptic patients with moderate or severe abnormalities on EEG. Serum NSE, GFAP and S-100β combined with EEG can help improve evaluation of the disease severity in patients with epilepsy.
