Abstract: Objective To explore the features of radiographic and CT imaging of staphylococcus aureus pneumonia in AIDS patients dependent on intravenous heroin. Methods Chest radiographic and CT imagings of clinically confirmed .staphylococcus aureus pneumonia in 10 AIDS patients dependent on intravenous heroin were retrospectively analyzed. Ten cases had conventional X-ray film and CT scanning. Results Pulmonary consolidation in 7 cases, pneumatocele in 6 cases, small pulmonary cavity in 5 cases, enlargement of mediastinum or hilum of the lung lymph nodes in 5 cases, pleural effusion in 3 cases were found. Eight cases had at least two of these signs. These signs could change in a short time. Conclusion The radiographic and CT imagings of staphylococcus aureus pneumonia in AIDS patients dependent on intravenous heroin are similar to the staphylococcus aureus pneumonia caused by other reasons, and its signs are multiformity. These signs can appear alone or as a mixture.
