Abstract: The development of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is associated with genetic, environmental, immune, and intestinal microflora. It has been found that IBD is closely related to fungal microflora.Fungi colonizing in the normal intestine are an important component of intestinal microorganisms.IBD patients have imbalanced microbial flora, and abnormal distribution of fungi may be involved in the occurrence or progression of IBD.Stool microbial transplantation and micro-ecological agents have been shown to be effective in the treatment of IBD.However,it is still unclear whether the change of gut fungal microflora in patients with IBD is a secondary event to the imbalance of intestinal bacteria or an independent etiological factor. Here we review the recent progress in the research of the impact of fungal microorganisms on the development of IBD and the potential value of microbial ecological agents in the treatment of IBD.
