Abstract: Extra cellular matrix (ECM),which plays a key role in the formation of liver fibrosis, mainly comes from the hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). The major components of ECM,includes collagens, glycoproteins, polysaccharides, etc. HSCs can in-fluence or accelarate the process of liver fibrosis through secretion of many cytokines. Recently, many scientists home and abroad focus on HSCs apoptosis and degradation of collagen as a target,in order to find a breakthrough for the prevention and treatment of liver fibrosis.
