Abstract： IntroductionMetabolic syndrome (MetS),also known as syndrome X,is a composite of multiple clinical symptoms and numerous postulated pathophysiological mechanisms that is becoming a common cause of mortality.Although MetS is not a dermatological diagnosis,it is closely implicated in a number of dermatological pathological conditions,and several cutaneous manifestations can serve as a clinical indicator for impending MetS as well as facilitate an early diagnosis and appropriate therapy to prevent the longterm sequela of MetS.
