Adverse reactions to fractional laser and their prevention and treatment

Abstract： Fractional laser,which can selectively remove target skin tissues through focal photothermolysis without affecting surrounding normal skin tissues,allows the assurance of therapeutic effect and avoidance of irreversible damage to skin.However,due to the variations in laser parameters,experience of operators and individuals' response to treatment,fractional laser has shown some side effects which may affect its therapeutic effect.In recent years,there have been reports on adverse reactions to exfoliative or non-exfoliative fractional laser at home and abroad,such as erythema,postinflammatory hyperpigmentation,infection,cicatrix,acneiform eruption,and so on.Therefore,more attention should be paid on the incidence of and risk factors for adverse reactions to fractional laser,and effective strategies should be developed for their prevention and treatment in clinical practice.
