Abstract: Psoriasis mainly manifests as the excessive proliferation and abnormal apoptosis of keratinocytes. The excessive proliferation of keratinocytes is due to the dysfunction or disturbance of cell apoptosis. Apoptosis defection of keratinocytes plays an important role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Recently, studies have shown that arsenide can induce the apoptosis in keratinocytes and then inhibit their overproliferation by affecting Fas/Fas ligand as well as telomere and telomerase, blocking JNK pathway, and so on. Hence, arsenide may be an effective alternative treatment for psoriasis in the future.
