Abstract: Vitiligo is a depigmentary skin disorder characterized by a chronic and progressive loss of melanocytes(MC). It is easy to diagnose, but difficult to treat. Certain areas such as the lips, genitals, scalp,eyelids, elbows and knees, extremities, palms and soles are considered as difficuh-to-treat areas. This paper describes the latest progress in effective therapies of vitiligo on difficult-to-treat sites, including medicine,surgical transplant, phototherapy and combination treatments. To choose a reasonable treatment strategy based on the characteristic of lesional sites may improve the clinical efficacy of vitiligo treatment.
