Abstract: Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSIP) is a newly discovered IL-7-like cytokine that plays biological effects via activating its receptor. TSIP can be secreted by skin keratinocytes. mucosal epithelium, basophils, mast cells and smooth muscle cells. It plays an essential role in the innate immunity of skin and mucosa because of its participaLion in lymphocyte development, T cell differentiation and development of allergic inflammation. Recent studies have demonstrated that TSLP plays an important role in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis, vitiligo. cutaneous T cell lymphoma, asthma, allergic thinitis, etc.
