Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of high volume hemofiltration (HVHF) on the treatment of acute pancreatitis in pregnancy (APW). Methods Six APIP cases from our hospital and 66 cases from published papers were grouped as A and B. Cases in group A were treated with Baxter's hemofiltration system BM25 and hemo-fiher apparatus FH1200 plus traditional therapy. Group B served as control. Results The mean arterial pressure, heart rate, oxygenation index of acute pancreatitis were all improved in group A. The hemodiastase descended obviously after hemofiltration, from (529.71±76.53) U/L dropped to (83. 69±33. 67) U/L (P<0. 05), and the score of APACHE Ⅱ descended from(18. 94±4. 31) to (7. 92±3. 68)(P<0. 05). In group A, six pregnant women survived and two infants dead. In group B, the maternal mortality rate was 19 % (13/ 66), and the perinatal mortality rate was 27% (18/66). Conclnsions The combination of traditional therapy with HVHF can reduce the disability and mortality of APIP, and improve the outcomes.
