Initial clinical application of portable bedside CT-CereTom

Abstract： Objective To introduce the performance of portable bedside CT (PBCT)-CereTom and evaluate its clinical value. Methods Three hundred and twenty severe or abasic patients from ICU of our hospital received PBCT-CereTom scanning of head. The performance of PBCT-CereTom and its initial clinical effect were analyzed. Results Three hundred and sixty three times of scanning with a slice of 5 mm were performed on these 320 patients, including 2 times in 43 and once in 277; these patients experienced 20-30 s for spiral condition and 50-60 s for non-spiral condition of scanning.Altogether,363 scanning got clear imaging without repeated examination for any patient,and no incidence and complication appeared.Conclusion PBCT-CereTom is safe and easy to operate, and can provide high-quality neuroimaging data,indicating that it is suitable for head examination of severe and abasic patients.
