Abstract: Objective To inturoduce the experience of using micrus microcoils system (Micrus Endovascular,Codman ) in the treatment of ruptured intracranial aneurysms. Methods 16 intracranial saccular aneurysms in 15 consecutive patients presenting SAH were treated with the concentric-filling technique,in which the aneurysms were framed with Microsphere coils,or Presidio coils and packed with Delta coils,or other type coils.Among the seven wide-neck aneurysms, balloon remodeling was used in two,and stenting was used in one. Results Of the 16 treated aneurysms, total embolization was achieved in 14 and subtotal embolization in 2.No procedure-related complication was recorded. All patients, except the one who was in Hunter-Hess V grade before treatment, were restored uneventfully and discharged within two weeks. Conclusions Micrus microcoil is a secure and effective embolization material for intracranial aneurysms, and promises a bright future.
