Abstract: Objective To discuss the value of dynamic and T2 WI-magnetic resonance imaging (T2 WI-MRI)in evaluating embolization effect of heated chemotherapy embolization for primary hepatic carcinoma. Methods Twenty-four patients were selected from January 2006 to August 2009.After the heated chemotherapy embolization, the patients were scaned with dynamic and T2WI-MRI after one month or 1.5 months, and then the digital subtraction angiography(DSA) was used to observe these cases. Results Twenty-eight residual tumor in 18 cases were found out on the scans of MRI; however,on the DSA,there were 29 leisions in 19 cases;compared with DSA,the sensibility of MRI discovered residual tumor was about 97.6% (28/29) and specificity was about 100.0% (28/28).Conclusion The dynamic and T2 WI-MRI for evaluating embolization effect of heated chemotherapy embolization for primary hepatic carcinoma is an useful method.
