Abstract: Objective To observe the changes of myocardial mechanics and the effect of glucocorticoid hormone(GH) on cardiomyocyte in septic rat. Methods Sepsis was induced by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP).Cefoperazone Sodium and Sulbactam Sodium(NS) were given by 200 mg/kg postoperatively. GH was given to trial groups. All rats were intubated through right common carotid artery to left cardiac ventricle for hemodynamic measurement. Results Mean artery pressure (MAP) ( 120 ± 15 ) mmHg and Left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP)( 137 ± 16) mm Hg at 6th hour GH, MAP(108±11)mmHg and LVSP(102±15) mmHg at 24th hour GH were significantly higher than those in NS (86±12)mm Hg、(78±10)mm Hg, (98±20)mm Hg、(88±4)mm Hg(P <0.05).There were no differences between and NS at 72th hour(P>0.05).Conclusions The function of left ventricular is significantly improved by GH at early stage of sepsis, but there are no evidence of preventing from the deteriorism of myocardial mechanics by injecting GH consecutively. So comprehensive treatments should be administered in sepsis.
