Abstract: Objective To analyze benefits of managing discharged acute myocardial infarction by observing the regular follow situation of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients, supervising and regulating secondary prevention medication. Methods Six hundred twenty-two patients with acute ST-segment elevated myocardial infarction treated by reperfusion were selected. Two hundred twenty-five patients with regular medication and regular review were defined as observation group, while the other 394 patients without regular further consultation were in the control group. Blood pressure, heart rate and heart echocardiography function in the 2 groups were compared after 1 year of discharge. Results One year's follow-up showed that the systolic and diastolic blood pressure of observation group were lower than those of control group( P =0.040 ,P = 0. 015 ), heart rate of the observation group was lower than that of control group( P = 0. 000 ). The left ventricular end diastolic dimension (LVEDD) ( P = 0.020), left ventricular end systolic dimension (LVESD) ( P = 0. 011 ) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF)(P=0.0024) of the controlled group were improved. Conclusion Secondary prevention plays a positive role for discharged AMI patients.
