Abstract: Obicetive To analyze the role of vasospasm in acute myocardial infarction. Methods Retrospectively analysis of clinical characteristics of 12 patients suffering from acute myocardial infarction due to vasospasm from September 2006 to October 2009 was done. Results During 3-6 months follow-up, 2 patients were admitted to the hospital because of repeat anginal attacks, 2 patients in which stent placement was performed were free of chest pain.the other 8 patients were asymptomatic. Conclusions CCBs and nitrates are strongly recommended for improving the prognosis of coronary spasm, but in many cases they do not suppress completely symptoms.Interventional treatment in vasospastic angina is still controversial. Our observations indicate that in patients with acute myocardial infarction in course of variant angina, stunt implantation may prevent repeat attacks.
