Abstract: Objectives To study the impact of spironolactone on Tei index in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI). Methods Ninety cases of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction were selected and randomly divided into two groups. Forty-five cases in control group were given routine therapy and 45 cases in spironoiactone group were given 20 mg spironolactone once a day on the basis of the same routine therapy as con-trois. The levels of Tei index were measured before and after the treatment of 6 months. Results There was no sig-nificant difference between two groups before treatment (P >0.05). After treatment Tel index of spironolactone group(0.53±0.16) was significantly lower than control group (0.62±0.14) (P<0.05). Conclusions Spironolactone can reduce the level of Tei index and improve the cardiac function of patients with AMI.
