Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effects of Angiomentor virtual reality simulator(Simbionix company, America) on the learning curve of coronary angiography for inexperienced cardiovascular interventional doctor. Methods Sixteen cardiovascular doctors without the coronary interventional experience were enrolled in this program. 8 were assigned randomly to do the training of Angiomentor virtual reality simulator and coronary angiogra-phy lecture and the rest only studies theoretically about coronary angiography. In the following real clinic practice, the error frequency, the coronary angiography fluoroscopic time, the amount of contrast and total procedure time wer recorded respectively. Results Compared with non-training group, the mean pedormance errors in training group decreased 62.5% ,the mean procedure time decreased 44.0%, the contrast volume decreased 44.0% ,the time of X-ray exposure decreased 57.7% , the total volume of X-ray exposure decreased 51.6% and the total volume of X-ray exposure every square meter decreased 52.4%. Conclusion Angiomentor virtual reality simulator is helpful for grasping coronary angiography skills.
