Abstract: Objectives To determine whether sleep apnea is associated with increased late lumen loss and restenosis after percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods Thirty four patients with coronary heart disease who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention were divided in 2 groups: 12 patients with an apnea hyponea-index < 10/h( group A) and 22 patients with obstructive sleep apnea and AHI 10/h(group B). restenosis was determined by using coronary angiography after 6-12month follow-up. Results Angiographic restenosis did not present in both groups . late lumen loss in OSAHS group (0.21±0. 08)mm was slight higher than that in control group(0. 19± 0.09 mm). there was not statistical significianee between two groups (P 0. 05 ). Conclusion Patients with OSAHS who underwent coronary intervention have a higher degree of late lumen loss, which is a marker of restenosis and vessel remodeling after PCI.
