Abstract： Objective To observe the difference between group A(Maijun'an plus captopril)and group B (placeboplus captopril)in treating essential hypertenson(EH).Methods Sixty cases of EH were randomly divided into two groups:group A(n=30)were given Maijun'an plus Captopril,group B(n=30)took placebo plus Captopril for 4 weeks.Blood pressure was monitored respectively before and after treatment.Results Blood pressure in two groups both greatly decreased after treatment,but it declined more significantly in group A than in group B(P＜0.05).Conclusion Maijun'an has good effect on lowering blood pressure.
