Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between divers' self-esteem,life events and mental health,so as to provide a solid basis for the better service of divers psychologically.Methods Questionnaire was used to test 296 divers with Self-Esteem Scale ( SES),Life Event Scale (LES) and Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90).Results Self- esteem of the diver population was relatively high.Self-esteem was positively correlated to mental health( P <0.05 or P <0.01 ),while life events were positively correlated to mental health (P <0.05 or P < 0.01 ).Results of hierarchy multiple regression analysis indicated that self-esteem and life events and the interaction between the two had a significantly regressive trend.Conclusions Self-esteem had positive impact on the divers' mental health and the regulative effect of self-esteem could be detected in lifeevents and mental health.
