Abstract： Objective To analyze different factors influencing on therapeutic effect of idiopathic facial neuritis and to evaluate effect of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) combined therapy on them. Methods The influencing factors were investigated statistically through a retrospective analysis on total therapeutic effect of196 patients with idiopathic facial palsy, including sex, age, basic disease, HBO treatment, house-brackmann facial grading and facial nerve conduction velocity. According to the different methods of treatment, all patients were divided into routine treatment group (102 cases) and HBO treatment group (94 cases). Therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results HBO treatment, house-brackmann facial grading and facial nerve conduction velocity were major influencing factors. The total effective rate of group B was higher than that of group A, particularly in patients whose house-brackmann facial grading was Ⅲ-Ⅳ and Ⅴ- Ⅳ grade(P<0.01)and whose facial nerve conduction velocity stepped down in middling and serious degrees(P<0.01).Conclusions The curative effect of HBO on patients with idiopathic facial neuritis of different degree is significant, particularly in patients with middling and serious degree. It will help to improve therapeutic effect to receive HBO treatment early.
