Abstract: Objective To evaluate the relationship between CTLA-4 49A/G gene polymorphisms and T1DM in Chinese population. Methods A comprehensive search of original article on the relationship between CTLA-4 49A/G gene polymorphism and T1DM in Chinese population was done, and the included studies were analyzed by using RevMan 5.0, and Begg’s test, odds ratio, heterogeneity and publication bias test were performed. Results Odds ratios of G allele to T allele and genotypes GG+GA to genotype AA were 1.82 (95% CI: 1.59~2.08, P<0.01) and 2.66 (95% CI: 1.97~3.60,P<0.01), respectively. Begg’s test revealed no significant bias. Conclusions G allele of CTLA-4 49A/G gene polymorphism confers genetic susceptibility to T1DM in Chinese population.
