Abstract： PCR-RFLP was used to examine the 1438A/G polymorphism of 5-HT2AR gene in 79 patients with T2DM and 84 controls.Brachial vascular diameter was measured after reactive hyperemia and administration of nitroglycerin sublingually respectively by color Doppler ultrasonography.The patients with GG genotype had higher serum 5-HT level(P<0.01),lower NO (P<0.05) and decreased endothelium-dependent arterial dilation(P<0.05).In conclusion, homogenic mutation of 1438A/G in 5-HT2AR gene may be associated with decreased vasodilative function in T2DM
