Abstract: Objective To investigate the association of oxidative stress with adenosine acid metabolism in erythrocyte in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods ATP,ADP,AMP in erythrocytes were determined by HPLC,and SOD,GSH-Px,CAT,anti-ROS,MDA were detected by colorimeter in 104 type 2 DM patients and 32 non-diabetes controls.Results(1)The content of ATP and ATP/ADP ratio in erythrocyte and activity of SOD,GSH-Px,CAT,anti-ROS were dramatically decreased(P<0.05)and the content of ADP and MDA were increased(P<0.05)in T2DM group as compared with control group.(2)In T2DM group, there was positive relationship between ATP and activity of SOD,SOD/MDA ratio(P<0.05).There was negative relationship of ADP with SOD and anti-ROS.Conclusions In patients with T2DM,there is a close relationship between the increased oxidative stress and dysfunction of adenosine acid metabolism
