Abstract: Objective To investigate effects of TNF-α and pioglitazone on adiponutrin mRNA(ADPN)expression in 3T3-L1 adipocytes.Methods The differentiating and full differentiated 3T3-L1 adipocytes were treated with 100ng/ml of TNF-α or 100umol/L of pioglitazone during cell differentiation.Semi-quantitative RT-PCR was used to analyze ADPN gene expression.Results After TNF-α treatment,ADPN mRNA expression was increased in 3T3-L1 cells.In contrast,pioglitazone dramatically down-regulated ADPN expression.Conclusions ADPN expression is modulated by TNF-α and pioglitazone in 3T3-L1 cells
