Influence of the new cut point of impaired fasting glucose on the distribution of IGR in Shanghai urban population

Abstract： Screening 1869 urban poulation aged 18 years and over in Shanghai showed that as compared with old criteria (FPG>6.1 mmol/L as IFG), new criteria (FPG>5.6 mmol/L as IFG) had lower NGT(70.4% vs 77.2%), higher IFG(9.6% vs 2.8%), lower IGT(8.8% vs 10.9%), higher IFG plus IGT(4.6% vs 2.4%).
