Abstract: Screening 1869 urban poulation aged 18 years and over in Shanghai showed that as compared with old criteria (FPG>6.1 mmol/L as IFG), new criteria (FPG>5.6 mmol/L as IFG) had lower NGT(70.4% vs 77.2%), higher IFG(9.6% vs 2.8%), lower IGT(8.8% vs 10.9%), higher IFG plus IGT(4.6% vs 2.4%).
