The impact of new diagnostic criteria for impaired fasting glucose on the diagnosis of impaired glucose regulation in Qingdao city, China

Abstract： The study of population cluster sampling(n=2033) in Qingdao city showed thatIFG prevalence by newIFG diagnostic cutpoint(5.6 mmol/L) was 28 %,but only 11.3 %by the cut-point of 6.1 mmol/L;the corresponding IGTprevalanceincreased from29 %to 52 %;the correspond-ing degree of cardiovascular risks was decreased by 5.6 mmol/L of cutpoint.
